Updates from 2026

Ghent city page expanded

Added comprehensive Intro, History and Future sections, covering the development and modernisation of Ghent’s tramway, current temporary service changes, reconstruction of the Petercelle axis and the route towards Evergem, and the future Gentspoort lines 4 and 7.

Brest city page updated

The Brest city page has been expanded with a new introduction, an overview of public transport and a detailed history of the city’s tramways. The new content covers the original tram system, the development and opening of modern line A, and the expansion of the network with line B in February 2026.

Bordeaux city page expanded

Added comprehensive Intro, History and Future sections, covering Bordeaux’s original and modern tramways, the expansion of the present network to six lines, the proposed tramway across the Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas, reconstruction of the Pont de pierre and refurbishment of the Citadis fleet.

Melbourne city page expanded

Added comprehensive Intro, History and Future sections, covering the development of Melbourne’s horse, cable and electric tramways, network unification and modernisation, recent fleet developments, accessibility and power-supply improvements, proposed tram routes through Fishermans Bend and Melbourne’s long-term Tram Plan.

Graz tram network fully updated

Graz’s tram line coverage has been fully refreshed, with updated details for all nine lines and their stops, including Lines 16 and 17 via the Neutorlinie and the evening and Sunday service on Line 23.

Besançon city page expanded

Added comprehensive Intro, History and Future sections, covering Besançon’s original tramway, development and opening of the modern network, the new longer Alstom trams, construction of the Brulard terminus and the forthcoming reorganisation of lines T1 and T2.

Aubagne city page expanded

Added a new city page covering Vantaa’s existing public transport network and the light-rail line under construction between Mellunmäki, Hakunila, Tikkurila and Aviapolis, including its development, construction programme, planned 2029 opening and proposed extension to Helsinki Airport.

Turku added to Tram Zone

Added a new city page with comprehensive Intro, History and Future sections, covering Finland’s first horse tramway, the development and closure of Turku’s electric network, efforts to restore rail transport, and the approved Port–Varissuo tramway scheduled to open in 2033.

Added a new city page with comprehensive Intro, History and Future sections, covering Tampere’s early tramway proposals, development and opening of the modern system, extensions to Santalahti and Lentävänniemi, increasing vehicle capacity, construction towards Pirkkala and Linnainmaa, and longer-term regional expansion plans.

Neuchâtel Littorail comprehensively refreshed

Neuchâtel coverage has been comprehensively reviewed and updated, including current route and stop information for Littorail line R15, expanded historical context and details of the possible future extension towards Maladière.

Newcastle light rail coverage added

Newcastle has been added to Tram Zone, including an overview of the city’s light-rail system, its history and future proposals, together with detailed route and stop information for Newcastle Light Rail.

Canberra light rail coverage added

Canberra has been added to Tram Zone, with coverage of its current light-rail line and all 14 stops, together with the system’s history and planned extensions towards Commonwealth Park and Woden.

Geneva tram network comprehensively refreshed

Geneva coverage has been comprehensively reviewed and updated, including all five current tram lines and their stops, expanded historical information and revised details of future network projects.

Mendoza Metrotranvía comprehensively refreshed

Mendoza coverage has been comprehensively reviewed and updated, including the current Metrotranvía route and all 25 stops, expanded historical information and the latest confirmed extension projects.

Sydney light rail comprehensively refreshed

Sydney coverage has been comprehensively reviewed and updated, including current route and stop information for lines L1, L2, L3 and L4 and revised details of future network proposals.

Zürich tram network comprehensively refreshed
