Tram line 15 in Zürich

About Line 15

Tram line 15 in Zürich runs from Bahnhofstrasse/HB in the city centre to Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen in the south east of Zürich, travelling via Central, the historic Limmatquai and Bellevue before continuing through Seefeld.

Note: Line 15 has different city-centre termini depending on the direction of travel. Services towards Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen start at Bahnhofstrasse/HB, while services travelling from Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen terminate at Central.

Note: Line 15 operates as a through service with line 11.Services arriving from Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen change from line 15 to line 11 at Central and continue via Bahnhofstrasse/HB and Paradeplatz back towards Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen. In the other direction around the circuit, line 11 changes to line 15 at Bahnhofstrasse/HB. Passengers can remain on board when the line number changes.

Route of Zürich Line 15

Starting at Bahnhofstrasse/HB, line 15 runs to Central before following the Limmatquai through Zürich's historic old town, serving Rudolf-Brun-Brücke, Rathaus and Helmhaus on the way to Bellevue.

From Bellevue, line 15 continues via Opernhaus and along Seefeldstrasse through Kreuzstrasse, Feldeggstrasse, Höschgasse, Fröhlichstrasse and Wildbachstrasse before reaching Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen. In the opposite direction, services follow the same route back as far as Central, where the line 15 journey terminates.

Bahnhofstrasse / HB

Bahnhofstrasse / HB is one of several tram stops surrounding Zürich Hauptbahnhof and is located at the northern end of Bahnhofstrasse, close to the main station entrance.

Note: Bahnhofstrasse / HB is the starting point for line 15 services towards Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen. Services travelling in the opposite direction terminate at Central.

The stop is also served by tram lines 4, 7, 10, 11 and 13.

Central

Central is one of Zürich's major public transport interchanges and was known as Leonhardplatz until 1950. Beside the stop is the lower station of the Polybahn funicular, which climbs to the university quarter near ETH Zürich.

Note: Central is the terminus for line 15 services arriving from Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen. Services towards Bahnhof Tiefenbrunnen start at Bahnhofstrasse / HB.
