The service connects the Skenderija area with Ilidža, sharing the main tram corridor through Marijin Dvor, the museums and university campus, and Sarajevo’s western residential districts.
Its city-centre terminus is on Hamze Hume, separate from the riverside Skenderija stop. Trams turn using a short street circuit through Hiseta, Hamze Hume and Maršala Tita, serving the same stop locations in both directions between Skenderija and Ilidža.
From Skenderija (Hamze Hume), trams follow Hamze Hume to Maršala Tita and continue west through Marijin Dvor. They join Zmaja od Bosne, passing the museums and university campus before serving Pofalići, Socijalno and Dolac Malta.
The route continues along Bulevar Meše Selimovića through Čengić Vila, Otoka and Alipašin Most. It passes the RTV broadcasting complex and Alipašino Polje, then continues through Nedžarići and Stup towards the terminus at Ilidža.
Returning trams follow the same corridor back through Marijin Dvor, using its city-bound platform. They then take Hiseta and turn into Hamze Hume to reach the Skenderija terminus.

Skenderija (Hamze Hume) is a tram stop located the short street circuit linking Hiseta with Maršala Tita. It is separate from the riverside Skenderija stop.
The stop provides connections to bus services.
Nedžarići is a tram stop located on Bulevar Meše Selimovića, next to the junction with Dzemala Bijedica St. There is a turning loop to the west of the stop, allowing it to function as a terminus if required.
The stop is also served by tram lines 3, 4, 5 and 11 and provides connections to bus services.
