The service connects Sarajevo’s historic centre with the Nedžarići residential neighbourhood. It follows the main tram corridor past the museums and University of Sarajevo campus, continuing through the western districts before terminating at the turning facilities at Nedžarići.
Trams follow a one-way circuit through central Sarajevo. Journeys from Baščaršija run through Katedrala, Banka and Park, while returning trams follow the riverside route through Skenderija, Pošta, Drvenija, Latinska ćuprija and Vijećnica.
From Baščaršija, the route heads west through Sarajevo’s historic centre, passing the cathedral and continuing along Maršala Tita to Marijin Dvor. It then follows Zmaja od Bosne past the museums and university campus towards Pofalići and Dolac Malta.
Continuing along Bulevar Meše Selimovića, trams serve Čengić Vila, Otoka and Alipašin Most. They pass the RTV broadcasting complex and Alipašino Polje before reaching Nedžarići, where they turn for the return journey.
Returning trams share the main corridor as far as Marijin Dvor, then take the riverside route along the Miljacka. They pass the main post office, Drvenija Bridge, Latin Bridge and City Hall before reaching Baščaršija.

Katedrala is a tram stop located Mula Mustafe Bašeskije, opposite the Sacred Heart Cathedral, which it takes its name from. The Cathedral is a prominent Neo-Gothic landmark completed in 1889.

Nedžarići is a tram stop located on Bulevar Meše Selimovića, next to the junction with Dzemala Bijedica St. There is a turning loop to the west of the stop, allowing it to function as a terminus if required.

On journeys towards Baščaršija, trams follow the shared route back to Marijin Dvor, then serve the following stops before reaching Baščaršija.
Latinska ćuprija is a tram stop located on Obala Kulina bana, beside the Latin Bridge over the Miljacka River.Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were assassinated on 28 June 1914 near the bridge’s northern end, triggering the crisis that led to the First World War.
