Tram line 4 in Graz
Tram line 4 runs between Reininghaus in western Graz and Liebenau Murpark in the southeast. The 24-stop journey is scheduled to take approximately 34 minutes.
The line connects the developing Reininghaus district with Graz Hauptbahnhof, the historic city centre and the southern districts of Jakomini and Liebenau. Along the way, it serves Kunsthaus Graz, Hauptplatz, Jakominiplatz, Stadthalle Graz, Messe Congress Graz, Graz Ostbahnhof-Messe, the Merkur Arena and the Murpark shopping centre.
The present route was formed through extensions at both ends of the line. The southern extension from Stadion Liebenau to Liebenau Murpark opened on 21 March 2007, while the 1.8-kilometre branch from Alte Poststraße to Reininghaus opened on 26 November 2021. Line 4 operates daily.
Starting at Reininghaus, line 4 runs north through the redeveloped former brewery grounds, serving Jochen-Rindt-Platz, Reininghauspark/tim and Reininghausstraße before reaching Alte Poststraße. It then joins the established western tram corridor and continues through Köflacher Gasse/PVA to the partly underground stop beneath the forecourt of Graz Hauptbahnhof.
From Hauptbahnhof, the line continues through Esperantoplatz/Arbeiterkammer/tim and along Annenstraße through Roseggerhaus and Südtiroler Platz/Kunsthaus. It crosses the River Mur and passes through the historic centre via Hauptplatz/Congress before reaching Jakominiplatz, the principal interchange on the Graz public transport network.
Line 4 then runs south along Conrad-von-Hötzendorf-Straße through Finanzamt, Steyrergasse, Jakominigürtel/tim, Stadthalle, Fröhlichgasse/Messe, Ostbahnhof and Jauerburggasse. After serving Stadion Liebenau/Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz, it continues through Dr.-Lister-Gasse and Karl-Huber-Gasse, passes the Murpark park-and-ride facility and terminates at Liebenau Murpark, where connections are available to city and regional buses and the adjacent S-Bahn station.

Reininghaus is a tram terminus serving the Reininghaus district in western Graz. It opened on 26 November 2021 as part of the tramway extension into the redeveloped former brewery grounds. Trams turn using a loop beside the stop, which is located close to the Geriatric Health Centre Peter Rosegger.

Jochen-Rindt-Platz serves the developing Reininghaus district. The square was created as part of the district’s redevelopment and named in 2021 after Formula One driver Jochen Rindt, who grew up in Graz and became the sport’s only posthumous World Drivers’ Champion in 1970. Alte Poststraße is an interchange west of Graz Hauptbahnhof where the Reininghaus branch meets the established tram corridor from Wetzelsdorf. The connection towards Reininghaus opened on 26 November 2021. The stop takes its name from Alte Poststraße, a historic north–south route whose origins can be traced back to the Roman period.
