Tram line 16 in Graz
Tram line 16 runs between Smart City/Peter-Tunner-Gasse/tim in northwestern Graz and St. Peter in the southeast, serving 23 stops.
The line connects the Smart City development and Helmut List Halle with Graz Hauptbahnhof, the Joanneumsviertel, Jakominiplatz, Graz University of Technology and the residential district of St. Peter.
Line 16 was introduced when the Neutorlinie opened on 29 November 2025. It replaces Line 6 from approximately 19:30 on weekdays and operates throughout Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, using the new city-centre route instead of travelling through Südtiroler Platz and Hauptplatz.
Starting at Smart City/Peter-Tunner-Gasse/tim, Line 16 runs south through Nikolaus-Harnoncourt-Park and Dreierschützengasse/Helmut-List-Halle. It continues through Starhemberggasse and Daungasse/Hauptbahnhof before joining the established western tram corridor at Köflacher Gasse/PVA and reaching the partly underground stop beneath the forecourt of Graz Hauptbahnhof.
From Hauptbahnhof, the line continues through Esperantoplatz/Arbeiterkammer/tim and along Annenstraße to Roseggerhaus. It then follows the Neutorlinie through Vorbeckgasse and Belgiergasse, serving Bad zur Sonne/Stadtbibliothek before crossing the River Mur on the Tegetthoffbrücke. It continues past Andreas-Hofer-Platz and the Joanneumsviertel, then follows Neutorgasse and Radetzkystraße to Jakominiplatz.
Line 16 then runs east through Dietrichsteinplatz, Neue Technik, Münzgrabenkirche and Moserhofgasse. After St. Peter Friedhof and Schulzentrum St. Peter, it continues through Plüddemanngasse, Eisteichgasse, Breitenweg and Prof.-Franz-Spath-Ring before terminating at the turning loop in St. Peter.

Smart City/Peter-Tunner-Gasse/tim is a tram terminus serving the Smart City Graz development and its tim mobility hub. The stop opened on 26 November 2021 with the extension through the district.
