FESTVL links the Glenelg seafront with Festival Plaza on the northern edge of Adelaide's city centre. From Moseley Square, it travels through the southern suburbs and central Adelaide before taking the short branch to Festival Plaza. The service operates on weekends, public holidays and Adelaide Oval special event days.
The Festival Plaza branch opened in 2018. Its terminus serves the Adelaide Festival Centre and is the closest tram stop to Adelaide Oval. Travel is free along Jetty Road in Glenelg and between South Terrace and Festival Plaza; a fare is required for the section between those free zones.

From Moseley Square, trams travel along Jetty Road towards Brighton Road. On the journey towards Festival Plaza, they call at Jetty Rd – North side; trams returning towards Moseley Square use the platform Adelaide Metro calls Jetty Rd – South side. The line continues through Glenelg East and Glengowrie to the new Morphettville stop beside the racecourse.
Beyond Morphettville, the route serves Plympton Park, Marion Road and the neighbourhoods around South Road. It continues through Black Forest, Forestville and Wayville, then crosses Greenhill Road and enters the city at South Terrace. Trams pass City South and Victoria Square before heading north along King William Street, stopping at Pirie Street and Rundle Mall. They then turn onto King William Road for the final section to Festival Plaza, beside the Festival Centre.
