Tram line 15 in Geneva
Tram line 15 in Geneva runs between Plan-les-Ouates, ZIPLO in the southwest of the Geneva urban area and Nations in the city’s international district. It serves Grand-Lancy, Lancy-Pont-Rouge, Acacias, Plainpalais and Geneva’s principal railway station at Cornavin. The complete journey takes approximately 38 minutes.
The section between Grand-Lancy, Palettes and Plan-les-Ouates, ZIPLO opened in December 2023, extending the line into the industrial and employment district of Plan-les-Ouates.
Starting at Plan-les-Ouates, ZIPLO, line 15 follows Chemin du Tourbillon, Route de la Galaise and Route de Base, serving Le Rolliet and Curé-Baud before reaching Grand-Lancy, Palettes.
From Palettes, the line runs north alongside Avenue des Communes-Réunies, serving Lancy Piscine, Place du 1er-Août and Mairie de Lancy. It then follows Route du Grand-Lancy to Lancy-Pont-Rouge, gare/Etoile before continuing along Route des Acacias through Pictet-Thellusson, Industrielle and Acacias.
After crossing the Arve on Pont des Acacias, the route serves Uni-Mail and Plainpalais. It then follows Boulevard Georges-Favon through Cirque and Stand before crossing the Rhône and continuing through Goulart to gare Cornavin.
From gare Cornavin, line 15 runs north along Rue de Lausanne, serving Môle and Butini. It then follows Avenue de France through Maison de la Paix before reaching its northern terminus at Nations, beside Collège Sismondi.

Plan-les-Ouates, ZIPLO is a tram terminus and bus interchange located on Chemin du Tourbillon within the principal employment and industrial district of Plan-les-Ouates. ZIPLO is the abbreviation for Zone industrielle de Plan-les-Ouates. The stop opened in December 2023 when the tramway was extended from Grand-Lancy, Palettes.

Plan-les-Ouates, Le Rolliet is a tram and bus interchange located on Route de Base beside the developing Le Rolliet neighbourhood. The neighbourhood, planned to contain approximately 1,000 homes, forms the first stage of the wider Cherpines development. The stop opened in December 2023 as part of the extension to ZIPLO.

Grand-Lancy, Curé-Baud tram stop is located on Avenue du Curé-Baud near Chemin des Fraisiers, serving the surrounding residential neighbourhood and the nearby Fraisiers sports facilities. It opened in December 2023 as part of the extension between Grand-Lancy, Palettes and ZIPLO.
Grand-Lancy, Palettes is a major tram and bus interchange located at the junction of Avenue des Communes-Réunies and Chemin des Palettes. The interchange was comprehensively rebuilt between 2021 and 2023 to accommodate the extension of the tramway towards Plan-les-Ouates.

Grand-Lancy, Lancy Piscine tram stop is located on Avenue des Communes-Réunies beside Parc Marignac and the Piscine de Marignac. Opened in 1969, the swimming complex includes an Olympic-sized outdoor pool and is protected as a historic monument.

Grand-Lancy, Place du 1er-Août is a tram and bus interchange on Avenue des Communes-Réunies beside the public square from which it takes its name. The square hosts a market twice a week. The stop served as a temporary tram terminus between July 2021 and December 2023 while the extension towards Plan-les-Ouates was constructed.

Grand-Lancy, Mairie de Lancy tram stop is located on Route du Grand-Lancy beside Lancy’s municipal offices. The historic mairie occupies a former country residence associated with the family of Genevan diplomat Charles Pictet de Rochemont.

Lancy-Pont-Rouge, gare/Etoile is a major tram, bus and rail interchange beside Lancy-Pont-Rouge railway station. Formerly named P+R Etoile after the nearby park-and-ride facility, the stop serves Léman Express and RegioExpress trains and the surrounding Pont-Rouge business and residential district.

Carouge, Pictet-Thellusson tram stop is located on Route des Acacias beside the Geneva offices of the Pictet financial group. The stop and adjoining street commemorate Jacques Pictet-Thellusson, an 18th-century Genevan soldier and diplomat who served the Kingdom of Sardinia.

Industrielle tram stop is located in the centre of Route des Acacias near Avenue Industrielle, close to the boundary between Geneva and Carouge. It serves the mixed commercial and light-industrial Acacias district, which forms part of the wider Praille Acacias Vernets redevelopment area.

Acacias tram stop is located on Route des Acacias at the southern approach to Pont des Acacias, which carries the tramway across the River Arve. It serves the northern part of the mixed commercial and residential Acacias district.

Uni-Mail tram stop is located on Boulevard du Pont-d’Arve directly outside the University of Geneva’s Uni Mail building. It is Switzerland’s largest university building dedicated to the humanities and social sciences and houses several faculties, including law, economics, social sciences, psychology and translation.

Plainpalais is a major tram interchange located at the Rond-point de Plainpalais, on the eastern side of the Plaine de Plainpalais. The adjoining esplanade is one of Geneva’s principal public spaces and regularly hosts markets, fairs and other events.

Cirque tram stop is located on Boulevard Georges-Favon beside Place du Cirque, at the northwestern end of the Plaine de Plainpalais. The square takes its name from the circus buildings established in this area during the late 19th century.

Stand is a major tram and bus interchange at the junction of Rue du Stand and Boulevard Georges-Favon. Tram routes diverge beyond the stop and follow different paths through Bel-Air and Goulart before rejoining near Cornavin. Rue du Stand takes its name from a shooting range established at Coulouvrenière in 1826.

Goulart tram stop is located on Rue des Terreaux-du-Temple beside Place Simon-Goulart, which commemorates the 16th-century Genevan pastor, theologian and historian Simon Goulart. Because of the one-way tram alignment through this part of the city, the stop is served only by trams travelling towards Nations; services in the opposite direction run via Mercier instead.

Gare Cornavin is Geneva’s principal railway station and a major interchange for regional, national and international trains, trams and buses. The original station opened in 1858, while the present main building resulted from a complete reconstruction undertaken between 1927 and 1931.

Maison de la Paix tram stop is located on Avenue de France beside the Geneva Graduate Institute’s Maison de la paix complex, which opened in 2013 and houses organisations working in international relations, peace and security. A pedestrian connection also provides access to Genève-Sécheron railway station.

Nations is a tram terminus and bus interchange on Avenue de France beside Collège Sismondi and Parc Rigot. The stop was formerly named Collège Sismondi and became the Nations terminus on 18 August 2025, when tram services were relocated from the former terminus at Place des Nations to allow construction of the extension towards Grand-Saconnex and Ferney-Voltaire.

Because the tram tracks follow different one-way streets between Stand and gare Cornavin, services travelling in the opposite direction run via Mercier instead of Goulart. Mercier is a tram and bus stop on Place Isaac-Mercier, at the junction of Boulevard James-Fazy and Rue des Terreaux-du-Temple. Because of the one-way tram alignment through this part of the city, it is served only by trams travelling towards Plan-les-Ouates, ZIPLO; services towards Nations run via Goulart instead. The square commemorates Isaac Mercier, who helped repel the Savoyard attack on Geneva during the Escalade of 1602 by lowering the portcullis at Porte Neuve.
