Tram systems in Oranjestad
Oranjestad is the capital and largest city of the island of Aruba. The city has a population of around 35,000. The city is located on the western side of the island and is a stop for many cruise ships, making tourism an important part of the local economy.
Oranjestad is served by the port with its steady stream of cruise ships and also the Queen Beatrix International Airport, which is located 2.5km from the city. The city also has a small bus service run by Arubus and the single line tram system that runs in the city.
Oranjestad Streetcar is a small 9 stop mainly single track system that runs from the cruise ship port to Plaza Nicky and is mainly designed as a tourist attraction, carrying tourists through the center of the city.
