Tram line 101 in Mendoza
Tram line 101 (formarly known as Línea Verde or Green Line) in Mendoza runs from Gutiérrez in the south of the city to Avellaneda in the north. The journey takes about 38 minutes and there are trains every 12 to 17 minutes depending on the time of day.
The line was initially opened in 2012 and ran from Gutiérrez to Mendoza, but was extended in 2019 to continue on to Avellaneda. Further extensions of the system are currently in the planning and construction phases.
From the terminus stop at Gutiérrez, the line initially runs northwesterly along the dedicated track of the previous railway, calling at Maza, Alta Italia, Piedra Buena, Luzuriaga, 9 de Julio, Parque TIC, and Independencia. From Independencia, the line continues northwest, stopping at Progreso, Godoy Cruz and San Martin.
From San Martin, the line turns in a more northerly direction, calling at Pellegrini. After leaving Pellegrini, the line leaves the old railway tracks and runs north, calling at 25 de Mayo, Pedro Molina, Belgrano and Mendoza, which was the previous terminus stop.
From Mendoza, the new section of the line continues north, stopping at Suipacha, Moldes, Lugones, Rubilar, José María Godoy, Patricias Mendocinas, Julio Argentino Roca and Marcos Burgos, before finally ariving at the terminus stop Avellaneda.
