Line 1 is Sétif's only tram line. It connects the eastern residential districts with the city centre, railway station, main bus and coach station and university facilities in the west.
Services share the route between 11 Décembre 1960 and Sipion Tombeau Numidien, where the line divides into two branches. One continues to Berchi Abid, serving the university and medical facilities at El Bez, while the other terminates at Oucissa Laid, serving university residences and another entrance to the campus. Passengers travelling between the two branches can change trams at Sipion Tombeau Numidien.
The line opened on 8 May 2018. Many of its stops commemorate people and events associated with Algeria's struggle for independence, including nationally known leaders and local martyrs.
From the eastern terminus at 11 Décembre 1960, close to the tram depot, the line heads north through Bataille Guedil Ouled Tebben to Bataille Helia Bousselam. It then turns west through Djebel Mokresse Ain Abessa to Med-Larbi Ben Mhidi, near the covered market and Abou Obeida ibn al-Djarrâh mosque.
The route turns south through Didouche Mourad and Rabah Bitat before heading west through Krim Belkacem, Mohamed Boudiaf, Berarma Abdellah and Belil Abdallah. Krim Belkacem is close to the Tbinet bus and taxi station.
At Djebel Boutaleb, passengers can change to trains at the nearby Sétif railway station. The line then enters the city centre, serving Mostafa Benboulaid near the Wilaya headquarters, main post office and Park Mall, followed by Bouzid Saal near the Aïn El Fouara fountain.
Continuing west, trams serve Les Cinq Fusilles and Les Freres Martyrs Djemli before reaching 08 Mai 1945, which serves the main bus and coach station and the nearby stadium. The route then heads towards the university facilities through Said Boukhrissa and Ferhat Abbas to Sipion Tombeau Numidien, the last common stop before the branches divide.
Services towards Berchi Abid continue through Fatma Djaballah, beside a pedestrian entrance to El Bez university campus, and Benchekribou Abdelaziz, near the medical facilities. The branch terminates at Berchi Abid, beside the university Rectorate.
From Sipion Tombeau Numidien, the Oucissa Laid branch heads west to Djebel Anini Ain Roua, near Lycée El Bez, before turning south through Bourahla Hocine, which serves the National School of Olympic Sports and nearby university residences. It terminates at Oucissa Laid, close to another entrance to El Bez campus.

11 Decembre 1960 is the eastern terminus of the Sétif Tramway. The naming of the stop commemorates the demonstrations of December 1960, when Algerians publicly demanded independence during Charles de Gaulle’s visit.
