Line 1 is Ouargla's only tram route. It connects Chenine Kadour in the western Haï Ennasr district with Sid Rouhou near the city centre, serving the bus station and university areas along the way. The 16-stop route opened in March 2018 and runs for approximately 9.7 km.
The tram provides a link between newer residential districts, Kasdi Merbah University and central Ouargla. An end-to-end journey is reported to take approximately 34 minutes, although passengers should check current service information with SETRAM when planning a journey.
From Chenine Kadour in Haï Ennasr, the line runs south through Khalil Abdelkader and Safrani Abdelkader. It crosses the N49 and turns east, passing 27 Fevrier 1962 before reaching Station Multimodale, which serves Ouargla's bus and coach station.
Beyond the bus station, the route turns north to Nouveau Pole Universitaire, then heads east along Avenue du 1er Novembre 1954. It calls at Teman Ahmed, El Allama Mouhamed Ben El Hadj Aissa and Cheikh Ben Atia Djelleoul through the university area, followed by El Chatti El Wakal and El Mekhadma.
The line continues northeast through Hassani El Taib, Zoubidi Abdelkader, Ben Abbas Hamadi and Colonel Seddiki Larbi. After the latter stop it turns onto Avenue de la République and reaches its eastern terminus at Sid Rouhou, near the commercial centre and Cité administrative.
