Tram line 96 in Melbourne
Line 96 of the Melbourne tram system runs between Blyth Street & Nicholson Street in Brunswick East to the north of the city and Acland Street in St Kilda to the southeast of the city. The entire journey takes about 57 minutes and there are trams every 5 - 8 minutes during the week, every 10 - 12 minutes on Saturdays and every 10 - 15 minutes on Sundays.
After leaving the terminus stop Blyth Street & Nicholson Street, the line runs south along Nicholson Street, calling at Albert Street & Nicholson Street, Glenlyon Road & Nicholson Street, Miller Street & Nicholson Street, Holden Street & Nicholson Street, Scotchmer Street & Nicholson Street, Reid Street & Nicholson Street, Tempany Street & Nicholson Street, Freeman Street & Nicholson Street, Alexandra Parade & Nicholson Street, Rose Street & Nicholson Street, Johnston Street & Nicholson Street, Moor Street & Nicholson Street, Melbourne Museum and Parliament Station.
After leaving Parliament Station, the line continues along Nicholson Street until it joins Spring Street, which it runs along for a short distance before turning right to run along Bourke Street, calling at Spring Street & Bourke Street, Russell Street & Bourke Street, Bourke Street Mall - Swanston Street, Bourke Street Mall - Elizabeth Street, Queen Street & Bourke Street, Bourke Street & William Street and Spencer Street & Bourke Street.
From Spencer Street & Bourke Street, the line turns left on to Spencer Street and runs south, calling at Southern Cross Station - Collins Street, Batman Park - Flinders Street and Casino/MCEC. After leaving Casino/MCEC, the line continues south along Spencer Street, until it reaches the junction with Whiteman Street, where it turns right and runs next to Whiteman Street, calling at Clarendon Street Junction & Normanby Road and City Road.
After leaving City Road, the line runs as a light rail system on its own dedicated track away from the streets, calling at South Melbourne, Albert Park, Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, Middle Park, Fraser Street and St Kilda Station until it reaches the junction with Fitzroy Street, where it turns right to run southwest along Fitzroy Street, calling at Canterbury Road & Fitzroy Street, Park Street & Fitzroy Street and Jacka Boulevard & Fitzroy Street.
After leaving Jacka Boulevard & Fitzroy Street, the line follows the road round to the left as it becomes The Esplanade and runs south, stopping at The Esplanade and Luna Park. From Luna Park, the line turns right on to Acland Street and runs southeast to the terminus stop Acland Street.
