Tram line 5 in Melbourne
Line 5 of the Melbourne tram system runs between Melbourne University in the center of the city and Burke Road & Wattletree Road, which is located in East Malvern in the southeast of the city. The entire journey takes about 47 minutes and there are trams every 12 minutes during the week and every 15 minutes at weekends.
After leaving the terminus stop Melbourne University, the line runs south along Swanston Street, stopping at Lincoln Square, Queensberry Street & Swanston Street, RMIT University, Melbourne Central Station, Bourke Street Mall, Collins Street & Swanston Street and Flinders Street Station.
After leaving Flinders Street Station, the line contines south, crossing the Yarra River on Princess Bridge and joining St Kilda Road to stop at Arts Precinct. After leaving Arts Precinct, the line continues south along St Kilda Road, stopping at Grant Street - Police Memorial, Shrine of Remembrance, Park Street & St Kilda Road, Toorak Road & St Kilda Road, Arthur Street & St Kilda Road, Leopold Street & St Kilda Road, Commercial Road & St Kilda Road, Moubray Street & St Kilda Road, High Street & St Kilda Road, Union Street & St Kilda Road and St Kilda Junction.
After leaving St Kilda Junction, the line turns left onto Princes Highway / Queens Way and runs east, passing Queens Way & Upton Road abd then continuing in the same direction when the road becomes Dandenong Road, calling at Chapel Street & Dandenong Road, Hornby Street & Dandenong Road, The Avenue & Dandenong Road, Williams Road & Dandenong Road, Closeburn Ave & Dandenong Road, Lansdowne Road & Dandenong Road, Orrong Road & Dandenong Road and Wattletree Road & Dandenong Road.
From Wattletree Road & Dandenong Road, the line turns slightly left and runs along Wattletree Road, calling at Armadale Street & Wattletree Road, Kooyong Road & Wattletree Road, Egerton Road & Wattletree Road, Duncraig Ave & Wattletree Road, Glenferrie Road & Wattletree Road, Nicholls Street & Wattletree Road, Cabrini Hospital & Wattletree Road, Dixon Street & Wattletree Road, Tooronga Road & Wattletree Road, Vincent Street & Wattletree Road and Erica Avenue & Wattletree Road, and then to the terminus stop at Burke Road & Wattletree Road.
