Tram line 109 in Melbourne
Line 109 of the Melbourne tram system runs between Box Hill Central in Box Hill to the east of the city and Beacon Cove in Port Melbourne to the south of the city. The entire journey takes about and hour and 13 minutes and there are trams every 6 - 10 minutes during the week, every 10 - 12 minutes on Saturdays and every 12 minutes on Sundays.
After leaving the terminus stop Box Hill Central, the line runs west along Whitehorse Road, calling at Nelson Road & Whitehorse Road, Elgar Road & Whitehorse Road, Hood Street & Whitehorse Road, Inglisby Road & Whitehorse Road, Union Road & Whitehorse Road, Narrak Road & Whitehorse Road, Wharton Street & Whitehorse Road, Northcote Avenue & Whitehorse Road, Balwyn Shopping Centre & Whitehorse Road, Balwyn Road & Whitehorse Road, Balwyn Cinema & Whitehorse Road, Hardwicke Street & Whitehorse Road, Deepdene Park & Whitehorse Road, Deepdene Shopping Centre & Whitehorse Road and Burke Road & Whitehorse Road.
After leaving Burke Road & Whitehorse Road, Whitehorse Road becomes CothamRoad and the line continues west along it, calling at Kew Traffic School & Cotham Road, St George's Hospital & Cotham Road, Thomas Street & Cotham Road, Marshall Avenue & Cotham Road, Belmont Avenue & Cotham Road, Cotham Road & Glenferrie Road, Charles Street & Cotham Road and High Street & Cotham Road.
After leaving High Street & Cotham Road, the line turns left to run southwest along High Street, calling at Kew Junction & High Street, Stevenson Street & High Street and Barkers Road & High Street,before running west along Barkers Road, calling at Findon Crescent & Barkers Road and then crossing the Yarra River and calling at River Boulevard & Victoria Street and Victoria Gardens.
From Victoria Gardens, the line line runs west along Victoria Street, calling at Leslie Street & Victoria Street, Mckay Street & Victoria Street, Church Street & Victoria Street, Lennox Street & Victoria Street and North Richmond Station. From North Richmond Station, the line crosses Hoddle Street and runs west along Victoria Parade, calling at Hoddle Street & Victoria Parade, Wellington Street & Victoria Parade, Smith Street & Victoria Parade, Lansdowne Street & Victoria Parade and St Vincent's Plaza.
From St Vincent's Plaza, the line turns left and runs south along Gisborne Street, calling at Albert Street & Gisborne Street, before joining Macarthur Street and running southwest, calling at Parliament Station and then crossing Spring Street and joining Collins Street.
Running along Collins Street, the line stops at Spring Street & Collins Street, 101 Collins Street, Town Hall & Collins Street, Elizabeth Street & Collins Street and William Street & Collins Street. From William Street & Collins Street, the line continues running along Collins Street, calling at Southern Cross Station - Spencer Street, and then turning left onto Spencer Street to run southe, calling at Batman Park - Flinders Street and then crossing the Yarra River and joining Clarendon Street and stopping at Casino/MCEC.
From Casino/MCEC, the line continues to the junction with Whiteman Street, where it turns right , calling at Clarendon Street Junction & Normanby Road. After leaving Clarendon Street Junction & Normanby Road, the line itinitally runs next to Whiteman Street, before branching off and running as a light rail system on its own dedicated track, calling at Southbank Tram Depot, Montague Street, North Port, Graham Street & Station Street and the terminus stop Beacon Cove.
