About Sétif

Sétif (سطيف‎ in Arabic) is located in northeast Algeria and is the capital of Sétif Province. Sétif is known as the trade capital of the country, with trading of grain and livestock as well as Zinc from nearby deposits. The city is close to the Mediterranean coast and has a Mediterranean climate that is hot and dry in the summer and cooler in the winters.

Overview of public transport in Sétif

The city is served by the May 8, 1945 airport, which is located about 10km to the west of the city and has both domestic and international flights. The city is also served by a railway station and bus and coach stations, together with the new Sétif Tramway.

Sétif's current tram system

Sétif's modern day tramway is operated by SETRAM, which operates all of the tram systems in Algeria and also maintains them. The network's single line runs between Berchi Abid to the west of the city and 11 Decembre 1960 in the center of the city. The line opened in 2018.
