Tram line 8 in Zürich

About Line 8

Tram line 8 in Zürich runs between the terminus stops of Hardturm in the northwest of the city and Klusplatz in the southeast of the city. The entire journey takes about 33 minutes and on week days and Saturday, there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes during peak times, rising to every 10 every minutes on Sunday.

Route of Zürich line 8

Tramline 8 starts at the terminus stop at Hardturm and initially runs along Hardturmstrasse towards the city. After passing intermediate stops, the line turns right at Escher-Wyss-Platz and initially runs below the elevated road system, before it climbs a ramp to join the roads, just before the stop at Bahnhof Hardbrücke. After Bahnhof Hardbrücke, the line continues across the bridge, before turning left to the stop at Hardplatz, which was the previous terminus for the line. From Hardplatz, the line follows Hohlstrasse to Bäckerlange, where the lint goes around the park and joins Stauffacherstrasse, which it follows past Stauffacher across the Sihl to Bahnhof Selnau, where it joins Selnaustasse and then Stockerstrasse, before turning left on to Bleicherweg and proceeding to Paradeplatz.

From Paradeplatz, the line turns right and follows Bahnhofstrasse towards the lake and the stop at Bürkliplatz, where it turns left and crosses Quaibrücke towards Bellevue. From Bellevue, the line runs along the edge of Sechsseläutenplatz, before turning left onto Stadelhoferplatz and the stop at Bahnhof Stadelhofen. From Bahnhof Stadelhofen, the line runs along Kreuzbühlstrasse to Kreuzplatz, where the line turns left and follows Klosbachstrasse to Römerhof, where the line turns right and follows Asylstrasse to the terminus at Klusplatz.
