Tram line 8 in Zürich
Tram line 8 in Zürich runs between the terminus stops of Hardturm in the northwest of the city and Klusplatz in the southeast of the city. The entire journey takes about 33 minutes and on week days and Saturday, there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes during peak times, rising to every 10 every minutes on Sunday.
Tramline 8 starts at the terminus stop at Hardturm and initially runs along Hardturmstrasse towards the city. After passing intermediate stops, the line turns right at Escher-Wyss-Platz and initially runs below the elevated road system, before it climbs a ramp to join the roads, just before the stop at Bahnhof Hardbrücke. After Bahnhof Hardbrücke, the line continues across the bridge, before turning left to the stop at Hardplatz, which was the previous terminus for the line. From Hardplatz, the line follows Hohlstrasse to Bäckerlange, where the lint goes around the park and joins Stauffacherstrasse, which it follows past Stauffacher across the Sihl to Bahnhof Selnau, where it joins Selnaustasse and then Stockerstrasse, before turning left on to Bleicherweg and proceeding to Paradeplatz.
From Paradeplatz, the line turns right and follows Bahnhofstrasse towards the lake and the stop at Bürkliplatz, where it turns left and crosses Quaibrücke towards Bellevue. From Bellevue, the line runs along the edge of Sechsseläutenplatz, before turning left onto Stadelhoferplatz and the stop at Bahnhof Stadelhofen. From Bahnhof Stadelhofen, the line runs along Kreuzbühlstrasse to Kreuzplatz, where the line turns left and follows Klosbachstrasse to Römerhof, where the line turns right and follows Asylstrasse to the terminus at Klusplatz.

Hardturm is the terminus stop for tram line 8 and also serves tram line 17 and night bus N13. The stop is named after the nearby medieval bulding, which formed part of the outermost city fortifications.
Bernoulli-Häuser is an intermediate stop on tram lines 8 and 17 and also serves night bus N13. The stop is named after a group of 98 brightly-coloured terraced houses built by Swiss architect Hans Benno Bernoulli.
Fischerweg is an intermediate stop on tram lines 8 and 17 and also serves night bus N13.
Förrlibuckstrasse is an intermediate stop on tram lines 8 and 17 and also serves night bus N13.

Schiffbau serves tram lines 4 and 8, as well as bus lines 33, 72 and 83 and night buses N5 and N8. The stop is named after the nearby Schiffbauhalle, which was previously an important location for shipbuilding.
Bahnhof Hardbrücke serves tram line 8, as well as bus lines 33, 72 and 83 and also night buses N5 and N8. The stop is also an interchange with the mainline station of the same name. The stop was created in 2017, when tram line 8 was extended from Hardplatz, over the Harrdbrücke and on to Hardturm.
Hardplatz was previously the terminus stop of tram line 8, before the line was extended over the Hardbrücke. As well as the tram line, the stop serves bus lines 31, 32, 33, 46, 72 and 83 as well as night buses N2, N5 and N8.
Güterbahnhof is an intermediate stop on tram line 8 and also serves bus line 31. Although the name of the stop sounds like it should be an interchange with a station, it actually translates as freight yard, which is what is closeby.
Bäckeranlage is an intermediate stop on tram line 8 and also serves bus line 31 and night buses N2 and N8. The stop is names after the park which it borders, which is one of the liveliest outdoor areas in Zürich with a mix og cultures and generations.
Helvetiaplatz is an intermediate stop on tram line 8 and also serves bus line 32.
Stauffacher is one of the Zürich tram systems main hubs, serving 5 different lines. Tram lines 2, 3, 9 and 14 run along Badenerstrasse and Line 8 crosses them, running along Stauffacherstrasse.
Bahnhof Selnau is an intermediate stop on tram line 8 and also serves as an interchange with the railway station of the same name, which serves lines S4 and S10.
