Tram line 7 in Zürich

About Line 7

Tram line 7 in Zürich runs between the terminus stops of Bahnhof Stettbach, which is on the eastern limits of the city and Wollishofen to the south of the city. The entire journey takes about 40 minutes and on week days and Saturday, there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes during peak times, rising to every 10 every minutes on Sunday.

Starting at Bahnhof Stettbach, which is a modern SBB railway station located right on the eastern limits of Zürich, tram line 7 initially runs in a westerly direction, following Dübendorfstrasse. The line passes a number of small intermediate stops, which serve the residents and businesses in the area, before arriving at Schwamendingerplatz. After Schwamendingerplatz, the line goes underground, using the tunnels and three stops of the never completed Zürich U-Bahn metro, before re-emerging above ground at Milchbuck. From Milchbuck, the line heads towards the city down Schaffhauserstrasse, to Schaffhauserplatz. From Schaffhauserplatz, line 7 continues through this largely residential area, following Weinbergstrasse, until it reaches Haldenegg and then the major interchange at Central. From Central, the line crosses Bahnhofbrücke, before turning left to travel down Bahnhofstrasse to Paradeplatz.

From Paradeplatz, the line follows Bleicherweg until it arrives at the mainline station of Bahnhof Enge. From Bahnhof Enge, the line follows Seestrasse past a number of intermediate stops until it reaches Bahnhof Wollishofen / Staubstrasse. From the stop at Bahnhof Wollishofen, the line through the residential area of Wollishofen until it reaches the terminus stop, where the line loops around Wollishoferplatz and a small garden center.

The stop serves as a terminus for tram lines 7 and 12 as well as serving bus lines 743, 744, 745, 751, 752, 754 and 760 and is also an interchange for the rail station, serving trains S3, S9, S11 and S12.
