Tram line 13 in Zürich

About Line 13

Tram line 13 in Zürich runs between the terminus stops of Frankental in the northwest of the city and Albisgütli at the southern edge of the city. The entire journey takes about 39 minutes and there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes during the week and on Saturdays, rising to every 10 minutes on Sundays.

Route of Zürich line 13

Tram line 13 starts at the terminus stop of Frankental, which is situated in the mainly residential Höngg area of Zürich. From Frankental, the line follows Limmattalstrasse towards the city, passing numerous intermediate stops, such as Meierhofplatz, with its interchange on to a number of bus routes, until it reaches Eschergutweg. From Eschergutweg, the line continues following Limmattalstrasse as it becomes Hönggerstrasse, until it reaches Wipkingerplatz. From Wipkingerplatz, the line turns right and crosses the Limmat on Wipkingerbrücke to Escher-Wyss-Platz. From Escher-Wyss-Platz, the line turns left and follows Limmatstrasse, passing Limmatplatz, until it reaches Sihlquai / HB, from where it runs around the eastern end of Zürich Hauptbahnhof, following Museumstrasse, Bahnhofquai and Bahnhofplatz to Bahnhofstrasse / HB at the top of Banhnhofstrasse.

From Bahnhofstrasse / HB, the line travels down Bahnhofstrasse until it turns right on to Paradeplatz, from where it follows Bleicherweg until it arrives at Bahnhof Enge / Bederstrasse. From Bahnhof Enge / Bederstrasse, the line runs along Bederstrasse, past Sihlcity Nord, before joining Giesshübelstrasse and turning right at Saalsportehalle and climing to Laubegg. After Laubegg, the line turns left on to Uetlibergstrasse, passing Uetlihof, site of the large Credit Suisse offices and Strassenverkehrsamt, before arriving at the terminus stop of Albisgütli, which is situated at the edge of the forest that covers the flank of Uetliberg.
