Tram line M2 in Lausanne
Line M2 in Lausanne is a fully automated line that runs from Ouchy-Olympique on the shores of Lac Léman to Croisettes in the northwest of the city. The entire journey takes about 20 minutes and trams run every 10 minutes. Of the line's 14 stops, nine of them are underground.
From the terminus stop at Ouchy-Olympique, the line runs northbound, underground, passing under Rue du Liseronis, before running parallel with Chemin du Funiculaire to Jordils. From Jordils, the line carries on in the same direction, initially running below Prom. de la Ficelle, past Délices and Grancy and underneath the main station to the stop at Lausanne-Gare. From Lausanne-Gare, the line continues in the same direction until it arrives at Lausanne-Flon. From Lausanne-Flon, the line takes a sweeping S-shape, first turning eastbound to Riponne-Maurice Béjart and Bessières, before turning northbound again to Ours to CHUV.
From CHUV, the line turns slightly more easterly, roughly following Rue du Bugnon, until it reaches Sallaz. From Sallaz, the line continues its way, now running roughly below Route de Berne to Fourmi. From Fourmi, the line continues in a more easterly direction, past Vennes to the terminus at Croisettes.
