Tram line 6 in Basel
Tram line 6 in Basel runs from Allschwil Dorf in the south west for Basel to Riehen Grenze on the German border in the north east and is operated by Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB). The entire journey takes about 43 minutes and there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays and every 10 minutes on Sundays.
From the terminus stop of Allschwil Dorf, the line runs along Baslerstrasse, past the stops of Binningerstrasse, Gartenstrasse, Ziegelei, Kirche, Merkurstrasse and Lindenplatz, until it reaches Morgartenring. From Morgartenring, the line follows Allschwillerstrasse, past Allschwillerplatz, to Brausebad, from where it joins Austrasse. The line follows Austrasse and Auberg until it reaches the Heuwaage-Viadukt, which it goes under and joins Steinentorstrasse at Heuwaage.
From Heuwaage, the line follows Steinentorstrasse and then Theaterstrasse, past Theater, before turning left onto Steinenberg. The line then crosses Barfüsserplatz and runs down Falknerstrasse and Gerbergasse until it reaches Marktplatz. From Marktplatz, the line follows Marktgasse and turns right onto Schifflände and then left to cross the Rhine on Mittlere Brücke to Rheinegasse. From Rheinegasse, the line follows Greifengasse and crosses Claraplatz, before running along Clarastrasse to Messeplatz. From Messeplatz, the line runs beneath the elevated building of the Messe Basel on to Messeplatz and then along Rosentalstrasse until it arrives at Badischer Bahnhof.
From Badischer Bahnhof, the line turns left onto Riehenstrasse, going past Hirzbrunnen / Claraspital and Eglisee, before joining Aeussere Baselstrasse and travelling past Habermatten, Niederholzboden, Burgstrasse, Pfaffenloh to Bettingerstrasse, where it continues along Baselstrasse to Riehen, Dorf. From Riehen, Dorf the line continues along Baselstrasse and then Lörracherstrasse, until it reaches the terminus stop of Riehen Grenze.
