Tram line 16 in Basel

Tram line 16 in Basel runs from Bruderholz to the south of the city to Schifflände in the center of the city and is operated by Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB). The entire journey takes about 21 minutes and there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays and every 10 minutes on Sunday.

From the terminus at Bruderholz, the line initially runs east alongside Bruderholzallee, until it reaches Hechtliacker, where it turns sharply right and heads south to Jakobsberg. At Jakobsberg, the line almost turns back on itself and runs north alongside Jakobsbergstrasse to the junction with Reinacherstrasse, which it turns left onto. and runs to Leimgrubenweg. From Leimgrubenweg, the line turns left onto Gundeldingerstrasse to Zwinglihaus.

From Zwinglihaus, the line turns right onto Thiersteinerallee to Heiliggeistkirche, from where it turns left onto Güterstrasse, past Tellplatz, Solothurnerstrasse and Bahnhofeingang Gundeldingen to IWB. From IWB, the line turns right onto Margarethenstrasse to Markthalle. From Markthalle, the line runs along Innere Margarethenstrasse to Heuwaage and then turns right onto Steinentorstrasse to Theater. From Theater, the line turns left onto Steinenberg, crosses Barfüsserplatz and travels down Falknerstrasse and Gerbergasse to Marktplatz. From Marktplatz, the line runs down Marktgasse to Schifflände.
