Tram line 11 in Basel
Tram line 11 in Basel runs from St-Louis Grenze on the French border to the north of the city to Aesch Dorf, South of the city. The line is operated by Baselland Transport AG (BLT). The entire journey takes about 46 minutes and there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays and every 10 minutes on Sunday.
From the terminus at St-Louis Grenze, the line initially runs south along Elsässerstrasse, past Hüningerstrasse, Voltaplatz and Mülhauserstrasse to St. Johanns-Tor. From St. Johanns-Tor, the line runs along St. Johanns-Vorstadt to Universitätsspital, from where it joins Blumenrain until it turns right on to Spiegelgasse to Schifflände and then to Marktplatz. From Marktplatz, the line runs down Gerbergasse and Falknerstrasse to Barfüsserplatz, from where it runs down Steinenberg to Bankverein. From Bankverein, the line runs down Aeschenvorstadt to Aeschenplatz, where it turns right and runs down Aeschengraben to Bahnhoff SBB.
From Bahnhof SBB, the line turns left and runs along Peter Merian-Weg, under the station buildings to Peter Merian, before turning right on to Thiersteinerallee and then left to run alongside Münchensteinerstrasse, past MPark until just after the Baselland Transport AG depot, it runs alongside Emil Frey-Strasse, past Freilager, Schaulager, Spengler, Loogstrasse and Gartenstadt to Heiligholz. From Heiligholz, the line runs south besides Baselstrasse, past Reinacherhof, Surbaum, Landhof and Lochacker to Landererstrasse. From Landererstrasse, the line turns right and runs alongside Haupstrasse, calling at Reinach Dorf, Vogesenstrasse, Reinach Süd, Arlesheimerstrasse and Herrenweg to the terminus at Aesch Dorf.
