Tram line 1 in Basel
Tram line 1 in Basel runs from Dreirosenbrücke to Badischer Bahnhof via Bahnhof SBB and is operated by Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe (BVB). The entire journey takes about 26 minutes and there is a tram every 7 or 8 minutes on weekdaysand Saturdays and every 10 minutes on Sundays.
From the terminus stop of Dreirosenbrücke, the line first crosses the Rhine on Dreirosenbrücke, towards Novartis Campus, before joining Voltastrasse and calling at Voltaplatz and Bahnhof St. Johann. From Bahnhof St. Johann, the line travels south down Entenweidstrasse, until it reaches Kannenfeldplatz. From Kannenfeldplatz, the line travels down Kannenfeldstrasse to Burgfelderplatz, before joining Spalenring and travelling past Birmannsgasse, Brausebad, Schützenhaus and Zoo Bachletten. From Zoo Bachletten. the line crosses Birsigviadukt to Markthall, before following Viaduktstrasse and Centralbahnstrasse to Bahnhof SBB.
From Bahnhof SBB, the line crosses Centralbahnplatz, before turning left in front of Strassburger Denkmal and running around the edge of De-Wett Park on to Elisabethenstrasse to Kirschgarten. From Kirschgarten, the line continues up Elisabethenstrasse to Bankverein and then joins St. Alban-Graben, before crossing the Rhine again on Wettsteinbrücke, to Wettsteinplatz. From Wettsteinplatz, the line turns left on to Hammerstrasse and then right on to Riehenstrasse until it arrives at the Congress Center and turns left on to Riehenring and stops at Messeplatz. From Messeplatz, the line turns right and travels beneath the elevated building of the Messe Basel on to Messeplatz and then along Rosentalstrasse until it arrives at the terminus stop at Badischer Bahnhof.
