Tram systems in Czech Republic

Czech Republic is located in Central Europe, the country is landlocked and bordered by Germany to the west, Austria to the south, Slovakia to the east and Poland to the northeast. Czech Republic is the 115^th largest country in the world, with an area of 78,866km² and the 84^th most populous, with a population of 10,610,947. The capital is Prague, which is also the most populous city in the country.

The Czech Republic has in the past had tram systems in a number of cities throughout the country, with many tracing their routes back to horse and steam powered systems from the latter part of the 19^th century. Even today, for a country of its size, the Czech Republic still has a large number of systems, with 7 cities having tram systems. Those cities are Brno, Liberec, Most-Litvínov, Olomouc, Ostrava, Plzeň and Prague
